1. Why Do Bras Still Suck So Much?
After growing up with a mom who was a genuine bra-burning feminist in the 1970s, I honestly thought bra technology would have evolved by now into something that was less painful and less focused on the male gaze. Fuck that. I’m thrilled to be in my crone era of feminine invisibility, but there’s enough of my grandmother in me that I can’t go braless. I have yet to find a bra that works. The best “barely there” bras don’t go up to my size — and the bras in my size are almost 100% focused on male gaze bullshit like lifting and/or pushing up boobs. Frankly, I’d rather be able to take them off and hang them on a wall but until that’s possible, bra it is.
2. I Can’t Believe They Turned Wuthering Heights Into High Romance
The cast is great, but the casting is bad. Whitewashing Heathcliff in 2026? The costumes are off; modern-ish but not enough to be cool. This is a heartbreaking story of unrequited love thanks to the constraints of “society” and what I’ve seen of the movie so far diminishes it. Look, I know some folks are giving me side-eye because I love the 1995 version of Pride & Prejudice, even though they altered the story for more drama (yes, the BBC series is the best, obviously). But making it a sex romp? They’re releasing it on Valentine’s Day, for fuck’s sake.
3. The Death Of TikTok
I loved TikTok. The algorithm showed me content I loved — smart, insightful, and creative that felt fresh, and reminded me of the early days of the blogosphere before social media ruined it. It’s been going downhill for a while; adding the TikTok Shop reshaped the content into an affiliate hellscape. The death knell came with the recent handover to the new conservative American owners, all handpicked by the current administration. They shifted in the algorithm immediately, and I started being served mostly MAGA content — and my favorite leftist creators are being shadow banned. I’ve been following folks on Instagram, but is that any better?
I hate everything.
